Homework Club for grades 1, 2, 3 and 4 have currently reached maximum capacity. Choice activities vary during the year, including arts and crafts, cooking, games, gardening, basketball, service opportunities, and more.Homework Club 2022-23 ENROLLMENT STATUS AS OF MONDAY, AUGUST 22: Every student is required to attend weekly activities in etiquette, character development, Dakota Leadership and financial literacy. Students are invited to participate on a first-come, first-serve basis. We currently enroll approximately 60 students. We utilize Character Counts’ Six Pillars of Good Character (Responsibility, Respect, Trustworthiness, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship) as a framework for our character education.Įnrollment in the program is opened in advance of each school year and again before the second semester. Our values are reflected in current educational reform initiatives, such as the Common Core Standards, that seek to grow independent, discerning, and persistent learners. We strongly believe that the demonstration of good character provides a foundation for success in all other areas of life.

Our objective is to help students succeed in school by providing a safe learning environment, homework assistance, and character development opportunities. The Dakota Center Homework Club is a curriculum-based after-school program open to K-8 students in Montgomery County.
